In 2010, when we were 25 years old, we started We Are the Youth because we wanted to create work we wish had existed when we were younger. Over the next 10 or so years, we met hundreds of young people and had the privilege of sharing their stories and diverse experiences with the world. Around 2018, the first phase of the project reached its natural end - it was a different era, both in the lives of the youth we were speaking to and for the two of us.
Now we’re revisiting the project, re-profiling the former youth who we interviewed in the past, and speaking to new youth to see what has changed and what hasn’t. We Are the Youth Revisited is a work in progress. We’re excited for the journey and hope you’ll follow along here!
